  • Finding My Way as a Desi Traveller

I’m a pharmacist in my thirties from the UK, and travel has taught me that the excitement of discovering somewhere new can come with extra questions.

I started travelling my 20’s, but noticed that alot of my friends werent interested in doing the same. Planning travels with other people met waiting around, being let down, or ‘ghosted’ but that was the only way to please my very protective asian parents. So one day i simply chose not to wait any longer, i started by applying to a three month erasmus trip with my university to turin italy, seemingly i caught the travel bug and have been going ever since.

Here, I’ll share the honest ups and downs of my travel journey, cutting the waffle ( why are blog posts SO long?!) alongside recommending practical tips and places from halal-friendly places to eat .. to accommodation ideas in destinations around the world.

Growing up i wish i had representation of a south asian woman travelling the world, and now i choose to be the representation.

I hope these stories help you plan with a little more confidence.
